“Ich will die Kinder aufmüpfig machen, aber doch nicht trösten.”

In Wien: hatte ich eine glückliche, wilde Kindheit und verbrachte mein ganzes Leben. 

Zur Person: Ich schrieb 140 Kinder- und Jugendbücher. Wiederkehrende Themen sind Autoritäts- und Empanzipationsfragen, Widerstand gegen Unterdrückung und Ungerechtigkeit. 

Wussten Sie:  Ab einem gewissen Punkte schrieb ich nur mehr Gedichte in Mundart, weil ich die „heutigen Kinder, die ständig am Smartphone sitzen und Fantasy lesen, nicht mehr verstand”.

In Vienna: I had a happy and wild childhood and lived here my entire life.

About me: I wrote 140 children's and youth books. Recurring themes are questions of authority and empowerment, resistance to arrogance, oppression and injustice.

Fun Fact: At a certain point I no longer understood “today’s children,   who stare on their smartphones and read fantasy”. So I started to write poems in Viennese dialect.
